"I have lived at Waterside Village for 4 years and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Everyone in the front office has been so welcoming an amazing. Anytime I had an issue with my apartment (which was rare) maintenance was there within the day to correct the issue. Tom especially went above and beyond to help me with any issues I had. I really appreciate his dedication to the resident of Waterside Village. If you are looking for a new home, then Waterside Village is the place to be!"
"1 ok place to stay. but a crooked manager. she said no personal checks for rent. only cashier checks. but she wouldn't give me back my personal check. she took my cashier check and took my personal check for money again. we took it to a lawyer for dishonesty. i think she is more of a robber than an office worker"
"Want to live in Richmond but feel as if you live in the middle of third ward? This is the place for you. Cars on bricks, tenants fighting in the halls, police making their appearance every weekend, overcrowded “pool parties”, package thieves, something is always broken, unprofessional office staff. Front gate has been broken for months now, not that it made any difference in the amount of crime here. Change of ownership left this place in the hands of terrible management. Even for the price you pay, it’s not worth it."
"If you like a quiet and peaceful living environment do not move here!!! Kids run wild in the courtyard - throwing rocks, climbing light poles, screaming. Lived here for two years. First year was great until the new management company took over. The new management company is AWFUL. No help with maintenance and rude staff!!! Autopay system doesn’t work and they don’t care to fix it. BEWARE"
"It has its pros and cons
Pros: So close to shopping and the freeways. It was super helpful to run to Kroger without driving there when TS Beryl was coming.
Very close to the freeways to get to where you need to go
Management is good. Gabe and Thomas are awesome and super helpful!!
For the price you can't beat the space
Super Quiet. I haven't heard my neighbors (the walls aren't thin)
Having ATT cable compared to Comcast is a BIG difference!
The mail room is so far in the back with Amazon lockers for even UPS and Fed Ex to use. Love how private it is!! (I lived in Seattle and my mail was near the front door lobby of an indoor apartment complex. Anyone can follow someone in and randomly package pirate things left by delivery services.
They are pet friendly!
Cons:
TINY washer/dryer stackable. Good for one load
When the power goes out so does your water pressure. (At least in your shower) Expect almost NO water pressure in your shower head.
Parking is a nightmare at night...Nearly every space is filled.
Front Gate is very slow to open. Sometimes won't open at all on the app so you're stuck unti someone opens the gate for you.
Walls are basic in the hallway. I suggested local schools or art groups paint murals to liven the hallways. Doesn't haven't to be hung wall art. But concrete floors and empty walls just seems so cold. Even maybe a floor rug or two.
I got lost in the inside apartment complex looking for the lobby. I called the front office and one of the managers seemed to have an attitude helping me finding the right door (really should be a name plate on the door) for new people like me who were there for a week. This manager kept insisting to go thru double doors at the time when it was one single red door.
I Had no idea where the elevators were. There's no map inside the complex or even a sign leading to the lobby.
I was sick and overtired..I accidently threw my trash out without the bin (bag was tied) and they charged me for a violation. No warning!
I requested maintence to come fix my sink and told Gabe the cat was in the bedroom for safe keeping..maintence that was a no show that day and came at a random day without warning while the cat was roaming freely around the house.
Things I wish this apartment had but we can't change... where the double doors are on the outside parking lot. Turn them into entry/exit doors with pass code protected and KEY FOB -residents only.
Numbers on the outside (it's so hard explaining to people visiting what building you're close to)"
